Our CTO is looking for a Chief of Staff who will support the daily operations of Network Guard Engineering. You must be a detail-oriented person used to working in a fast-paced, results-focused environment. In this newly-created position, you’ll work alongside the CTO to help make our engineering organization as efficient as possible, while consistently improving both our culture and our products for our customers. Role Responsibilities / What You’ll Do

  • Be organized: Support calendar audits, help create and review metrics, help manage and organize the engineering leadership team’s Jira backlog, and more.
  • Support daily operations of the CTO: Prepare agendas, take notes, and assign/follow up on action items at staff meetings; manage the OKR and annual planning processes; support c-suite meeting prep; create decision-making frameworks; and help organize and publish content for our internal newsletter (‘The README’).
  • Lead special projects: Work with our HRBP to generate a skill matrix, conduct research on a SaaS tool that might help us be more efficient, help a team dig into what might be holding them back, and more.
  • Solve problems: You’ll intercept and solve issues as they arise: problems with a vendor, conflict in the workplace, or setting up/improving systems and processes to fill gaps or clarify/document the way we operate…it’s all fair game.

To succeed in this role, we’d love for you to have experience in some or all of the following: 

  • At least 5-10 years of experience in a similar role, or as a software engineer or product manager.
  • General business analysis skills.
  • Knowledge of data analytical skills including data analysis with SQL.
  • Extremely versatile and dedicated to efficient productivity.
  • Experience planning and leading strategic initiatives.
  • Strong orientation to team culture and cross-functionality.
  • Comfortable working in time-sensitive and rapidly evolving situations.
  • Sense of humility: no job is too big or too small to undertake.
  • You possess great interpersonal skills, including empathy, negotiation skills, problem-solving acumen, and emotional intelligence.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong project management skills.
  • Proven track record building and managing positive relationships with different stakeholders.
